Debby McElroy - Administrative Assistant
Debby grew up in the Friends Church in Argonia, KS, and graduated from Friends University with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration & Accounting in 1981. She married Joe in 1981 and they have three daughters, Jessica, Emily and Allison. The McElroy’s started attending Northridge in 1990.
Debby started working as the substitute secretary at Northridge in the early 1990’s, then job-shared with others, and eventually moved into a full-time position as Secretary in September, 1998. She added the Treasurer’s job to her responsibilities in September, 2002.
Debby loves being an Adult Sponsor with the Sr. High Youth group, and has traveled with them to Mexico on seven Spring Invasion trips. She also has been to Burundi, Africa twice - once with a Northridge adult team in 2000, and again in 2006 with a Saltshaker youth mission team.
Debby says, “I thank the Lord that I am allowed to serve Him through this job. I view my primary purpose to be taking care of the detail work of the church, freeing the pastoral staff to do their ministry away from the office. The support and affirmation that I receive from my church family is tremendously rewarding to me. I greatly appreciate the freedom that I am given to participate in other ministries here as well, such as youth ministry and mission trips.”
