Lauren Sill - Pastor of Adult Ministries and Spiritual Formation

Lauren joined the Northridge staff in October, 2007 as the Pastor of Adult Ministries and Spiritual Formation.  Her passion in life and ministry is to draw and encourage others into deeper relationships with Jesus Christ and one another.  After enjoying more than 15 years in a career as a Certified Athletic Trainer and physical therapist, Lauren began to sense God drawing her in a new direction – toward full-time ministry.  That journey has led to serving in Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church in Buhler, KS, earning a master’s degree in Leadership at Denver Seminary in Denver, CO, and ministering at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church, S. Hutchinson, KS.

Lauren’s best friend (and husband since 1987) Wayne, is a science teacher at Maize High School.  They enjoy living in the country, riding motorcycles together, and camping.  Wayne’s favorite hobby is officiating high school football and Lauren is most at home playing and working outside, though reading and coffee with friends are frequent pastimes as well.

As Lauren reflects on her ministry at Northridge, she wants her life and ministry to be a journey with others that is authentic and allows God’s strength to be seen in her weakness.  She looks forward to nurturing discipleship through adult education, small groups, caring for one another, and reaching out to others.

One of Lauren’s core values is the importance of Christian community.  “I am convinced of the significance of authentic, Christ-centered community as the primary way that we grow in discipleship, spiritual formation, evangelism, and service.  Contrary to our culture’s emphasis on individualism and independence, I believe that, as Christ-followers, we are to grow into inter-dependent people—a genuine community that loves God and others.  I believe that we become the people that God intended as we live life, learn, serve, reach out, and worship together.  I am really grateful to be part of the Northridge community and look forward to what God has ahead for all of us.”
