There will be NO EDUCATIONAL CLASSES on Sunday morning for Jr. High thru College-age for the entire summer, June 3-Sept. 2. We will start up again with a newly formatted time of education on Sept. 9. Return to top.
Jr. High Camp and Sr. High Camp are both held in early to mid-June. Campers get to participate in challenging competitions, spiritual growth exercises, and encouraging discussion times with their cabin groups. There is also plenty of free time for swimming, frisbee golf, hiking, and all the other activities that Camp Quaker Haven has to offer. Quaker Haven is located just south of Arkansas City, KS. This year’s dates for camp are: Sr. High - June 8-12 and Jr. High - June 12-16. The registration fee is $210, with $75 in scholarship funds available from NFC. Sunday, June 24 12:00-6:00 pm This day will be our LAUNCH for the summer! You won’t want to miss this important time of picking hard things to do as an individual, small group, and our full group. You will learn more about the summer on this important “LAUNCH DAY” as we present teaching from the book. We’ll give you time to pick a few hard things for you to do as an individual. You will spend time with your guys’ or girls’ group picking a few hard things to do together. You will learn more about our Collaboration days, retreat with the Kickapoo, along with a summer notebook that will include prayer and Bible reading options for the summer. Lunch & dinner will be provided. Please bring $15 to offset costs for the “Do Hard Things” book, the notebook and food. Wednesday, June 27 and Wednesday, July 11 8:00 am-8:00 pm These will be days of WORKING and SERVING together. We will meet at the church at 8:00 am for devotions and breakfast together. We will go and serve together (projects to be announced June 24) and will conclude the day with supper & prayer at the church to be done by 8:00 pm. Basketball & Board Games - Fri., June 29 6:00-9:00 p.m. ~ Softball & Board Games - Fri., July 20 6:00-9:00 p.m. We will have two Game Nights, when we will spend the evening just playing & laughing together. We will meet at NFC at 6:00 pm on Thurs., July 12 to travel to the Kickapoo Center in McLoud, OK and will return to NFC on Sat., July 14 at 9:00 pm. Our time together at the Kickapoo Friends Center will be to encourage and bless the people there with our presence, our service and our lives. More details to come on June 24! Praise! VBS * NFC Church * Family Style July 15 –18, 2012 6:30—8:00 All students are encouraged to volunteer as helpers at VBS! Contact Michelle Foster or Jodi Kinniburgh if you would be willing to work! Each day we will focus on an attribute of God and then praise Him in response. This is a curriculum where we will actively be using our Bibles. Through the daily skits, crafts, games, and music, we will have an awesome time while giving God the praise only He deserves! On Wednesday, we will have a fun ending to our program. We will meet at the same time, ONLY we will meet at “The Alley”. We’ve reserved the facility and we will be able to enjoy bowling, go-carting, and free tokens to play in the arcade area. Unlimited sodas will also be served. The food plaza will be open for you to purchase your own food. The cost for VBS and “The Alley” is FREE! But you must register. Don’t forget to invite your friends! “The Alley” will be open for our use from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Snacks will be served each evening from 5:50-6:20 p.m. before our program begins. Return to top.
On Sunday, July 22 from 6:00-9:00 pm we will have a time of CELEBRATION of the Hard Things that have been accomplished throughout the summer. The Quiz Program gives students the opportunity to study and memorize God’s Word, travel to quiz tournaments throughout our region, compete with teams from other Friends churches, and have a blast in the process. The quiz season is from January through April, and our coach is Nathanael Harvey. This is the most fun you can have in Jr. High Youth! Return to top.
