Jr. High Camp and Sr. High Camp are both held in early to mid-June. Campers get to participate in challenging competitions, spiritual growth exercises, and encouraging discussion times with their cabin groups. There is also plenty of free time for swimming, frisbee golf, hiking, and all the other activities that Camp Quaker Haven has to offer. Quaker Haven is located just south of Arkansas City, KS. This year’s dates for camp are: Sr. High - June 4-8 and Jr. High - June 8-12. The registration fee is $195, with $75 in scholarship funds available from NFC. This annual conference is sponsored by EFC-MAYM Youth Ministries. FSC 2009 will be at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita from Dec. 28, 2009-Jan. 1, 2010. The conference features challenging speakers, inspiring worship, interesting workshops, and lots of fun activities. It gives our youth a chance to interact with youth from other Friends churches in our region, establishing friendships that last for years. Register online at http://www.friendsyouth.com. The Quiz Program gives students the opportunity to study and memorize God’s Word, travel to quiz tournaments throughout our region, compete with teams from other Friends churches, and have a blast in the process. The quiz season is from January through April, and our coach is Linda Stratton, assisted by Karis Ens and Courtney Stratton. This is the most fun you can have in Jr. High Youth! Return to top.
At least once a year, usually in the fall, the Jr. High Youth Group goes on a weekend retreat together. This is a great time for spiritual reflection, good fellowship and lots of fun together! Return to top.
This is the 15th year Northridge sends a youth team to Mexico. The impact of this short-term missions experience is beyond measure, both in it’s ministry to the growing Mexican Friends Churches and to our own youth. We are teaming up with other Friends youth groups in our region to serve the Mexican Friends Church and get a taste of missions during two different weeks. During the second week while we participate, there will be a several other teams with us in the beginning and end. Here are the important dates: Wed. February 24: Yellow Commitment Sheet due signed by parent and student. Final day to sign up online at http://www.friendsyouth.com Make sure to read all the details online as well. Sat. March 6: Required Orientation 9:00am to 5:00pm at NFC. Sun. March 7: Required Dinner and Auction. Every student will be required to help with the meal and will be required to work for 4 hours – more details later. Wed. March 10: Required work night 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. (last minute prep) FINAL PAYMENT DUE. Sat. March 13: Leave NFC at 5:00 a.m. Sun. March 14: Cross the border, participate in Sunday evening church. Mon – Thu: MISSION WORK! Work on projects, Participate in various church and/or evangelistic work. Many more exciting details coming soon! Fri. March 19: Leave Mexico, stay in San Antonio Hotel. Sat. March 20: Return to Wichita – will call parents when time is determined. Invasion 2010 Cost: All cost paid to NFC: $450 (minus fundraisers) due Wed., March 10 Note: if you decide to order a shirt when registering, the total cost for Invasion will be $460. Our retreat will be Friday, Oct. 23-Sunday, Oct. 25. We will be going to the beautifully renovated Camp Quaker Haven near Arkansas City. We depart from NFC at 6:30 p.m. on Friday (eat before you come) and return at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Cost is only $30, which includes all meals, travel and lodging. We are going through a DVD series from Focus on the Family called “That the World May Know.” The DVD’s feature lessons from Israel’s history by Ray Vander Laan, and are very interesting and thought-provoking. The class discussion is led by Debby McElroy. Our college-age students will be joining us for this great study!! Return to top.

Through tiny, united, student support groups and adult mentor relationships we will work together at building our spiritual habits to deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ. Our 2009/10 Tiny Groups will start Sunday, Oct. 4 and run through March, 2010. We will meet every other week, with special meetings of individual groups as arranged by their adult leaders. Operation Saltshaker is designed to provide EFC-MAYM Sr. High and older students an opportunity to explore and experience life on the Friends mission field –– while serving and encouraging missionaries and the church and community. Christian students who have a desire to serve cross-cultural missions and who are actively maturing as Disciples of Christ should apply for Operation Saltshaker!
